Local SEO Success For A Louisville MedSpa

Contents

Client Overview

Skinfinity Spa is a premier Medical Spa located in Louisville, KY, offering a variety of advanced body and facial treatments.

When I onboarded the spa in September 2024, the website had just been launched. The primary objectives was simple:

  1. Rank the spa in local search and Google maps
  2. Drive organic bookings for high-value treatment packages
  3. Boost sales of individual treatments on the shop page

It was an ambitious vision with a tight timeline, but with a robust SEO strategy, I was confident we could position Skinfinity Spa as a leading med spa in Louisville, KY.

Challenges

When I first audited Skinfinity Spa’s website, it was clear that it had been hastily built with minimal focus on SEO. There were no organic visitors, and only the homepage had been indexed by search engines. The site was cluttered with filler content left by developers and unnecessary dummy pages that needed to be removed.

From a technical SEO perspective, the website was riddled with critical issues—redirect loops, incorrect canonical tags, pagination errors, and poorly configured sitemaps. Fixing these technical problems became the top priority.

For a local business like Skinfinity Spa in Louisville, KY, enhancing local search visibility through Google map searches is equally essential.

SEO Strategy

The strategy to elevate Skinfinity Spa’s SEO success was twofold: a thorough technical clean-up paired with a targeted and strategic local SEO approach.

1. Technical SEO Audit & Fixes

I started with a comprehensive technical SEO audit, going beyond surface-level issues  to conduct a detailed analysis of the site’s overall structure.

For local businesses like Skinfinity Spa, maintaining a website’s technical health is just as important as targeting the right keywords. With this in mind, we eliminated filler content, removed unnecessary pages, and ensured every remaining element was polished and fully functional.

The result? A streamlined, well-optimized website, perfectly primed for ranking success.

2. Local Keyword Research & Mapping

With the technical groundwork in place, I shifted my focus to local keyword research. Louisville, Kentucky has its own distinct search trends, so understanding what potential clients were looking for was crucial.

Our research revealed that many users searched for specific treatments, such as “facials for acne” or “facials for glowing skin.” This insight prompted us to reorganize the facial treatment offerings into clear categories, each designed to align with the search intent of local users.

For the homepage, we targeted broader keywords like “med spa in Louisville,” while the shop page was optimized with commercial terms relevant to treatment purchases. The goal was simple: align the website’s content with what locals were actively searching for to maximize visibility and drive meaningful engagement.

3. Content Optimization

With the keyword strategy in place, the next priority was improving the website’s content. We rewrote the copy across all pages—not just to optimize for SEO but to ensure it delivered genuine value and engaged visitors effectively.

Each page was thoughtfully crafted to align with specific search intent, making it easy for potential clients to find the treatments and information they were looking for.

Additionally, we updated meta titles and descriptions across the website, carefully optimizing them to increase click-through rates from search engine results and drive more qualified traffic

4. Business Profile Setup & Optimization

Local SEO goes beyond on-page optimization; it’s about ensuring your business stands out across all key platforms.

We created and optimized business profiles on Google, Bing, and Apple, focusing on features that drive conversions. For instance, we added a booking button to Skinfinity Spa’s Google Business Profile, seamlessly linking to the appointment calendar for treatment packages.

This simple yet impactful addition delivered immediate results, generating 2–3 appointments per week initially, with a steady increase as visibility and engagement grew over time.

5. Citations Campaign

Citations are a cornerstone of local SEO, especially for new businesses. I created 100 high-quality citations across both national and Kentucky-specific business directories.

This strategy ensured NAP (name, address, phone number) consistency—an essential factor for improving local search rankings. Additionally, these citations generated valuable backlinks to the homepage, helping to build domain authority early in the process.

6. Trust Factors

For any business website, it is crucial to build trust with its customers and also to show search engines that they know what they’re talking about. Google calls this E-E-A-T and it is simple to implement using certain “trust factors” or trust signals throughout the website.

For Skinfinity Spa, we wanted to show that despite being new in the market, they are comprised of a team of professionals, and a favorite among customers.

This is why I embedded the Google Reviews directly on the website.

And included links to other platforms where the business is listed, active, and getting reviews.

I also embedded maps and driving directions to the spa from popular spots all around the location.

Results in Just Three Months

Clicks and Impressions

Within three months, the website got over 1.27k+ clicks and 30,000+ impressions from Google Search, and more than 3k clicks from all search engines. Daily organic clicks now exceed 15, which might not seem like a huge number, but given that this is a brand-new business targeting a local audience, these are highly relevant visitors with strong purchase intent.

Keyword Rankings

Skinfinity Spa now ranks in the top 5 in Louisville for service-specific keywords such as “liquid botox,” “cryotherapy”, “medical spa facials”, “cavitation lipo,” and “cryo facial.” More impressively, they’re in the top 3 for major high-intent keywords like “facials in Louisville” and “facial treatments near me.”

Revenue Impact

From September to December 2024, the site generated over $10,000 in organic revenue from product sales alone. Additionally, the calendar booking feature resulted in 10+ conversions each month, which, with an average value of $700, adding another $21,000 to the spa’s organic revenue.

What’s Next?

This was just the beginning. Moving forward, my focus will shift to content creation. I’ve conducted extensive keyword research to pinpoint future blog topics and developed a one-year content calendar with plans to publish 4–5 blog posts each month.

These posts will address specific user queries and naturally link to related services on the site, boosting both engagement and conversions.
